The simpler, safer way to prove who you are in Aotearoa.
More ways to prove what matters to you. Less paperwork, more control, and a simpler way to get on with life.
Share the one thing that’s asked. Keep the rest.
A venue only needs to know you’re over 18. Switch the view to see what stays in your wallet and what actually leaves your phone.
Three simple moves.
Store it. Use it. Prove it.
- 1
Store it
Trusted organisations issue credentials straight to the wallet on your phone. No more digging out documents or scanning PDFs.
- 2
Use it
When something needs proving, you choose the credential and see exactly what will be shared before anything leaves your phone.
- 3
Prove it
The organisation checks it came from a trusted source and gets only what it needs. Your full details stay with you.
New Zealanders are ready.

are comfortable with a digital wallet as their main way of proving who they are
are ready or open to a reusable digital identity
walk away when a business asks for information they see as unnecessary
have been targeted by a scam trying to steal information or money
are open to using biometrics

Look for the trust mark.
Digital identity providers can be accredited under the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework, and accredited providers are listed on a public register. Every listing on this site shows its accreditation status and links to that register, so you can check for yourself rather than take it on faith.
Accreditation is voluntary. Providers that have not sought it are not less trustworthy for that.
